Introduction

In our first 1998 newsletter in March we reported on a number of projects that were in the proposal state or contemplated for this year. Since that time several of these projects have started. In May Edgar Froese, President of the ACT Cinemage Group, participated in the Canadian Trade Mission to Italy and signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with our Italian partners. We are also about to start another project on the other side of the world, with a Japanese partner. Our CANARIE proposal passed the last hurdle and received funding, and the Millennium pilot project is now fully underway. Each of these projects has an article in this issue.
