VISEUM Project Nearing Completion

The VISEUM project is approaching its conclusion. The project was originally scheduled to conclude at the end of February 1998 but has been extended for a month. The project underwent an annual review in January (all European Commission funded projects are reviewed on a yearly basis). The reviewers were impressed with both technical and cultural aspects of the project and thought that the international nature of the project was quite valuable. The Commission also thought the project had good possibilities for commercialization.

Much of the activity of the project in the past several months has been on the networking aspects.

Plans are well underway for a public demonstration at the end of March at EVA Florence, a major conference on Electronic Imaging and the Visual Arts. This conference will also give ACT an opportunity to demonstrate the World Heritage Exchange.
