Edgar Froese, BSc, BFA – Director & Executive Chairman

Mr. Froese was a founding staff member of the UBC Computing Centre in the '60s, which for many years was the leading site for software development and innovation in British Columbia with collaborative relationships with similar centres of expertise in leading Western universities.
Mr. Froese while Manager of Network Services at UBC developed one of the first large organizational Intranets called UBCnet, which when he left, had 2,500 access points. He proposed and planned the interconnection of the Province's three universities, which became the backbone of BCnet and the Pacific sector of CA*net and the beginnings of the Internet in Canada.

From January 1990 to June 1991 Mr. Froese was Associate Director of Media and Graphics Interdisciplinary Centre (MAGIC), a new research centre he founded at the University of British Columbia with a mandate to undertake interdisciplinary research projects that involve the merger of media and computer technology. Mr. Froese founded Advanced Cultural Technologies Inc. in 1991 on leaving the University, to undertake systems planning and development consulting in advanced networking and multimedia computing.

As a Consultant he prepared a technical design and organization recommendations for an ATM research network for the Province of British Columbia for use in medical imaging, environmental modeling, telepresence, and similar media based applications. This grew into Rnet BC, a research network and networking association of which he is a Board member and Treasurer today. Rnet BC is the BC Regional Advanced Network of CANARIE (Canadian Advanced Network for Research, Education, and Industry).

Mr. Froese provides technical architectural direction for the company, as well as corporate planning, and market sector direction and specification. He also acts as Promoter for Media West Technology (VCC) Corp. and the Cinemage Software Limited Partnership.

Mr. Lai has over 20 years of experience in as a General Accountant, first with the Uiniversity of British Columbia in Industry Liaison, and more recently as the Principle of George Lai & Associates.

Janet Chilvers - Director
Proprietor, Twiggleberries B&B, Bowen Island, BC

Ms. Chilvers was for many years President of Ford's Flowers located in Point Grey, serving the West Side community. She "retired" to Bowen Island, started Twiggleberries Flowers on the Island, as well as the B&B of which she is currently the Principle.
