This database is a co-operative development between the ACT Cinemage Group and the Northern Forest Research and Extension Partnership.

The Northern Forest Research and Extension Partnership is based out of Prince George, B.C. Its mandate is to collect, archive and distribute forest-based information created by the Ministry of Forests, industry, consultants, and other groups. This database is a major part of fulfilling the mandate.

Information is organized into three separate but inter-linked databases: Project Summaries, Extension Information, and a Photo Gallery. You may initially access any of the three databases, and then link to the other two databases if additional information exists.

Currently, there is no charge for using the database, and all information is available to the general public.

Current contents of our collection include:

Biogeoclimatic Slide Collections Representative slides from all biogeoclimatic zones in British Columbia, as well as a more extensive collection of slides from northern BECs.

BC Ministry of Forests, Prince Rupert Region, Project Information Project summaries and photos relating to current research projects in the region.

BC Ministry of Forests, Prince George Region, Project Information Project summaries, photos and extension documents relating to current research projects in the region.

Reforestation Information Bank A FRDA (Forest Resources Development Agreement) funded database used until 1993. Over 1,000 relevant Province-wide records relating to forestry and research in BC have been converted and added to th e EIA.

University of Northern BC Information and content from University Staff, Graduate Students, and Undergraduates undertaking research on forestry-related topics.

In the future, the database will expand to include other aspects of forest-based communities, such as social, economic, landscape & geography, and First Nations information. If you would like to contribute to this archive, please contact Katrina Froese or use submit information online.

Making this information available online helps fulfill extension obligations for government funded projects in British Columbia.
